NET Festival offers its own vision of the theater space of today.
The New European Theatre festival (NET) dates back to 1998. Back then (right before the 10 Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall) it seemed important to provide contemporary european context for russian theatre in order to give it back the role of expiriment lab, a tribune to express todays problems in todays language, and to put together esthetical, political and generational issues. Expanding the boundaries of genres and styles, tracing the change of the new drama, and introducing the notions of physical and complicit witness theatre, the NET festival aquired its faithfull audience and bacame a landmark on Moscow theatre map.
